Unit linked annuity

They work in the same way as a With Profits annuity, but without the advantage of the smoothing provided by the With Profits fund.

The income payments on a unit linked annuity will be much more volatile, as they will not be protected from any fluctuations in the values of the underlying investments. They will probably be too far up the risk scale for most people.
