Impaired life conventional annuity

In this case the prospective annuitant is seriously ill, and a medical will probably be required. This can take some time to process, due to the medical, but can be very worthwhile. For example, one lady with a very aggressive form of cancer was given an annuity of 80% of the fund.

Other than the increased income and likely need for a medical, the advantages and disadvantages are the same as with the standard annuity.

The sorts of health problems that might lead to an impaired life annuity include, but are not restricted to, the following:

- cancer

- chronic asthma

- diabetes

- heart problems

- high blood pressure

- kidney

- multiple sclerosis

- stroke
